Aspirations (...so far removed)
Aspirations (...so far removed)

This evocative work celebrates aspirations beyond the limits of the human condition. The materials from which the paintings are made; trees, plants, and ground-up minerals, speak to our physical selves. I employ the materials to convey ideas of ascension and flight beyond the earthy limitations of our bodies.

Aspirations (…So Far Removed) is the most recent manifestation of this process of creating work that has been evolving since 2010. I am compelled to create work which responds to the unique forms that exist within patterns that have been affected simultaneously by natural events and human design. I explore the visible links between the patterns of human behavior and our connection to patterns of the natural world.
